We will be playing at 8U in 2020 Fall Ball and in Spring 2021 for players born 5/1/12 - 4/30/13.
Good morning. My name is Dave Simon. I am a grandparent-age coach that has been managing/coaching successful teams (never had a season below 500) for about 30 years. I have coached mostly club teams, namely the Rawlings Tigers in baseball and the St Louis Angels in softball. The team I am coaching now is called the CES Chargers out of Chesterfield. We have a fantastic group of parents that I rely heavily on in practices to give the boys the maximum # of reps within our practice time every week. My goal is to have little to no dead time in the practices. In any given practice, we have had 8-11 parents assisting with the drills. Our team this past season has been purely rec-level, not club affiliated. Starting with Fall Ball, we will be transitioning from a pure Rec-level team to a more competitive level team. We have a strong core of about 6-7 players and have possibly 3-4 more that will be willing to commit to a 1 1/2 to 2 hour team practice each week starting in December as well as an additional 1 1/2 hours of practice time at home. We are looking to add to that base. I do not teach old methods, everything I teach is what is being taught right now in the top youth club teams, high school and beyond. I do not have a child or grandchild on this team. Because we are not a club team, you'll find the cost is very friendly.
